into Your Daily Life

Continue leveraging the power of your unique Strengths by intentionally applying each of your top five themes in everyday life.

Select one of the below exercises to try per week and note any new learnings or insights in your own self-awareness and your approach to people and tasks.

 

1. DAILY DOZEN

Keep a daily journal of at least 12 ways you used your top five Strengths in the last 24 hours. It sounds like a lot at first, but we think you will pretty soon be documenting well over 50 ways you use your Strengths per day! What do you notice about when and how you lean on them?

 

2. THEME THURSDAY

Watch or listen to your top five Strengths episodes in the Season 1: Theme Thursday webcast. Over the upcoming months, gradually make your way through the other five seasons, where the hosts cover each theme in the context of leadership, teamwork, and coaching. Where do you feel validated, and why?

 

3. SHARING IS CARING

Share your top five Strengths with your colleagues, family, and friends. Ask them about their initial reactions to each theme and if they can offer specific moments where your themes have been in the Balcony or Basement. If you could go back in time and relive those moments, what would you keep the same? How might you react differently, given your new awareness? 

 

4. WEEKLY LINEUP

For one week, select one of your top five Strengths and ask yourself how you might purposefully use this Strength from the moment you wake up to when you go to bed each day. Think about what you intend to accomplish throughout the day and how you can specifically apply this select Strength. When you reach the end of the week, what came to you with ease? What gave you enjoyment? What did you deliver with excellence?       

 

5. COMPLEMENTARY PARTNERSHIPS

Connect with one team member (direct report, peer, supervisor) and have a conversation about their unique superpowers. They don't have to take the assessment for this discussion. What unique value do you each bring to the team or larger organization? How does your approach to people and tasks differ? How might you both benefit from an even more intentional partnership?
